Congratulations to the Sarasota County Academic Olympics All Star Team for their outstanding performance at the State Commissioner's Academic Challenge, securing second place in Division 2! Led by Prabhav Govindu (10) from Pine View School for the Gifted, the team, including Kevyn Dufresne (12) from North Port High School, Alexander Pongo (11) from Riverview High School - Sarasota, Florida, Zola Gutierrez (12) from Booker High School, Spencer Treadway (10) from Pine View School, and Alyssa Rozenblat (12) from Venice High School, showcased unwavering dedication and hard work in preparation for the competition. Competing against 32 other school districts statewide, their exceptional teamwork and talent shone through, earning them a well-deserved spot on the podium.
But the accolades don't end there! Prabhav Govindu's stellar performance also earned him a coveted spot on Team Florida, a remarkable achievement shared by only six students across all three divisions. Prabhav's dedication and talent were further honored with a $1,000 college scholarship. We are incredibly proud of our student's achievements and look forward to their continued success! 🏆🌟

🍎 It's Teacher Tuesday! This is Mrs. Hall, a K-1 grade ASD teacher at Lamarque Elementary School! 🏫 Her teaching journey was inspired by her oldest son, Preston, who is high-functioning autistic. Through their experiences and the support of wonderful professionals, Mrs. Hall realized her calling to give back and support other children and families, making a career change to pursue education. Preston is her "why" and her guiding light. 😊
In the classroom, Mrs. Hall's love for math shines through. She finds joy in problem-solving and the satisfaction of finding definitive answers to every problem. 🧮 Beyond teaching, she's a culinary wizard who finds therapy in cooking for her family.
Mrs. Hall shares her love with her husband Mark, youngest son Parker, and 10-year-old Siberian husky, Zoey. Zoey isn't just a pet; she's a cherished member of the family. 🐾
Reflecting on her journey, Mrs. Hall holds onto the wisdom passed down from her mom - "everything happens for a reason." This mantra guided her through the challenges of seeking a diagnosis for Preston. It ultimately led her to a fulfilling career in education, where she can make a meaningful difference in the lives of her students and their families. 💖
