About Sarasota County Schools
Nestled along the sun-kissed shores of Florida’s Gulf Coast, Sarasota County Schools (SCS) serves more than 44,000 students across 59 schools, from preschool through 12th grade. Students come from a wide range of backgrounds and speak more than 60 languages. Recognized as one of Florida’s leading school districts, SCS has earned an “A” grade from the Florida Department of Education for 23 consecutive years. Based on the latest school grades, 100% of district-managed schools earned an “A” or “B,” and 100% of district-managed middle schools earned an “A.” SCS is also supported by approximately 5,300 dedicated employees who work each day to prepare students for success.
Our 59 schools are a great source of community pride with 19 elementary schools, 7 middle schools, 7 high schools, 8 combination schools, one alternative school, one technical college, 15 public charter schools, and one virtual school.
