Sarasota County Schools is proud to announce that two of its school projects have been recognized in SRQ Magazine’s prestigious 4WALLS Visionary Building Design Competition. These awards highlight the district’s commitment to designing innovative, inspiring spaces that support student learning and creativity.

In the Public Building category:

  • Platinum Winner: Booker High School VPA Theater

  • Silver Winner: Wellen Park High School

The Booker High School VPA Theater project was recognized for its cutting-edge design that enhances the performing arts experience for both students and audiences. The space provides students with a professional environment to showcase their talent while engaging the community in the arts.

Wellen Park High School, set to open in Fall 2026, earned Silver for its forward-thinking design and state-of-the-art campus. The 81-acre site will feature a 325,000-square-foot academic building, a complete athletic campus, and spaces designed to prepare students for future success.

“These awards are a testament to the incredible collaboration between our district, architects, and community partners,” said Superintendent Terry Connor. “We are dedicated to creating environments that not only meet the needs of today’s students but also inspire generations to come.”

The 4WALLS competition celebrates architectural projects across the region that push the boundaries of design and functionality. Sarasota County Schools’ recognition underscores its ongoing efforts to provide world-class facilities for students.
