Sarasota County Schools is pleased to announce that Mr. Daniel Leal – currently an Assistant Principal of Booker Middle School – has been appointed as the new Principal of Booker Middle School.

“I am honored to serve as the new Principal of Booker Middle School,” said Leal. “Maintaining our school community’s core values and continuing to build upon our academic progress will be key areas of focus as we finalize plans for the new school year. I look forward to working alongside the amazing team members at Booker Middle and collaborating with our families and community members in support of all Tornados.”

Mr. Leal earned an Associate’s Degree in Family and Consumer Science Education from Miami Dade College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Family and Consumer Science Education from Florida State University, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Barry University. Leal holds certifications in Educational Leadership and Family and Consumer Science Education (6-12).

Before assuming his current role an Assistant Principal of Booker Middle School in July 2021, Leal served as an Academic Interventionist and provided administrative behavior support at Booker Middle School from July 2018 to June 2021. He also served as a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher at Rockway Middle School (Westchester, FL) from August 2010 to June 2018, and a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher at John A. Ferguson Senior High School (Miami, FL) from August 2006 to June 2010.
