Sarasota County Schools is pleased to announce that Mr. Trenton Terry – currently an Assistant Principal at Woodland Middle School – has been selected as the new Principal of Woodland Middle School. He will assume his new role effective Tuesday, July 1.
“Mr. Terry will do an excellent job continuing the great work that Mr. Grossenbacher and he have fostered together for the past four years at Woodland,” commented Rachael O’Dea, Deputy Superintendent & Chief Academic Officer. “We are proud of Mr. Terry and look forward to his continued leadership and steady focus on excellence at Woodland.”
“I am thrilled to serve as the new Principal of Woodland Middle,” said Terry. “I have spent my career focused on improving student achievement and building strong, school-based teams at every level. Woodland will continue to grow and innovate as a school community, ensuring that all Wildcats – students and staff alike – have the resources and support needed to achieve their goals.”
Mr. Trenton Terry earned his Bachelor’s Degree in English Education from Ohio University and his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. He holds certifications in English (6-12) and School Principal (K-12). Terry is a 2015 graduate of the Florida Department of Education Commissioner’s Leadership Academy.
Prior to assuming his current role as an Assistant Principal at Woodland Middle School in June 2021, Terry served as the Assistant Principal of Curriculum & Instruction at Venice High School. He has also served as the Assistant Director of Suncoast Polytechnical High School, an Assistant Director at Suncoast Technical College, the Principal of DeSoto County High School (Arcadia, FL), and the Assistant Principal of DeSoto County High School, among other roles in the education.
