Dear SMS Families,

We had a wonderful and busy week! From our first annual PUSH week (see more in full newsletter) to celebrating our front office staff for Administrative Assistant's Day, to our Band Awards Night, it was packed and positive. Thank you to our families and staff for making it such a great week.

PM3 testing begins next week on May 1st. We are ready for our students to show their academic progress throughout the school year on these important assessments. We appreciate your support in ensuring students are prepared and confident as they take on these assessments.

Please help by:

Prioritizing Sleep: Make sure your child gets a full night’s sleep before testing days.

Provide a Healthy Breakfast: A nutritious breakfast fuels brainpower and keeps students energized throughout the test.

Encourage a Positive Mindset: A positive attitude can make a big difference!

Arrive on Time: Being punctual ensures your child starts their day stress-free and ready to do their best. Limit Screen Time Before Bed: Encourage winding down with a book instead of screens to promote better sleep and focus.

8th Grade parents, please make sure you review the expectation PDF at the end of this newsletter which was reviewed with 8th grade students this week. Please note that students must attend school until at least lunch on days with special events.
