• School begins promptly at 9:30 AM.
Students arriving after 9:30 are marked tardy, so please help ensure your child arrives on time and ready for the day. Tardiness negatively affects students academically, behaviorally, and socially. Missing important instruction can lead to lower grades, more disciplinary issues, and decreased engagement. It also disrupts the classroom and, over time, can contribute to poor habits.
• Please check your child’s grades on Focus regularly.
Middle school can be a big transition, and many students still benefit from family support in keeping up with assignments and staying organized.
• Student IDs must be worn every day, all day.
This is a district-wide safety requirement. We’ve given many reminders and extra grace, but beginning this week students who are not wearing their ID will receive a before-school detention. If a student goes five days without an ID, a replacement will be issued and a $5 fee will be charged. Providing your child with a lanyard can really help them keep track of their ID.
