Dear Wilkinson team members and families,
It is truly an honor to introduce myself as the newly appointed Principal of Wilkinson School. As we move toward the close of the 2025-2026 school year, I am filled with gratitude for the strong foundation already in place and genuine excitement for what lies ahead for our Wilkinson community.
I want to extend my sincere appreciation to Susan Nations for her leadership and for clearly communicating the vision ahead through the district’s Future Focused Strategic Initiative. As shared previously, Wilkinson will begin a thoughtfully planned, three-year transition to a K-8 school. Beginning in 2026-2027 school year, we will proudly welcome our very first Wilkinson 6th grade class, followed by 7th grade in 2027-2028 and 8th grade in 2028-2029.
This moment marks an important milestone in our school’s history. The K-8 model provides a continuous, stable learning environment that strengthens relationships, promotes academic consistency, and supports students socially and emotionally as they grow. We are excited to expand our Wilkinson Family while maintaining a nurturing, student-centered culture that makes this school special.
As we look ahead, Wilkinson will continue its strong emphasis on rigorous and relevant STEAM learning opportunities, ensuring students are equipped with the creative, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills they need for future success. Our commitment to meaningful student and family engagement will remain strong through events such as STEAM Family Nights, Saturday Fun Days, and partnerships with our community.
Most importantly, I want you to know that our partnership remains at the heart of our work. Families are a vital part of each child’s learning journey, and your involvement makes a tremendous difference. Staying engaged, communicating with teachers, monitoring progress through the Focus Parent Portal, and reaching out when support is needed, all contribute to student success.
As we celebrate the accomplishments of the 2025-2026 school year and prepare to welcome new opportunities in 2026-2027, I am excited to learn alongside you and work together to ensure Wilkinson continues to thrive.
