Our Fundraising Coordinator wants you to know that students who bring 2 new orders to school tomorrow, 09/08, will receive ice cream during lunch on Tuesday!
Please have your student visit the front office between 9am and 9:25am or during first period and ask to see Mrs. Johnston. If they have not received their u-Crew characters, have them bring their slips as well.

"There are 5 key members of the Heron Creek Middle School Attendance School-Wide Support Team. Dani Stout (District Truancy), Elainna Coleman (District Social Worker), Shenie Steiner (School Counselor), Sophia Tison (SWST Facilitator) and the Attendance Clerk (Gwen Booher). This team has made a HUGE impact on the attendance rate at HCMS this school year and has been a model for the school district in their execution of interventions. Since the 2019/20 SY, our district has struggled to return from positive attendance with a consistent decline in our attendance rate. For the 2021/22 SY, the attendance at HCMS was 90.41%, for the 2022/23 SY it was 89.97%. Without intervention, it is safe to say the pattern would have continued. This team met weekly to review students with 5 or more absences. They sent emails, made phone calls, developed mentoring plans, did home visits, worked with teachers, etc.. Due to their proactive and consistent interventions, HCMS's average attendance is now 91.43%. Not only did this team stop the momentum of the negative trajectory, but they turned the car around!"

The Cambridge Vertical Raise Digital Discount Card Fundraiser is beginning soon. Students will receive instructions on how to create their digital store in the classroom of one of their grade level teachers today or early next week: 6th – Mrs. Fred, 7th – Mrs. Gerlt, 8th – Mr. Linneweber.
Proceeds from sales will go toward the cost of your student’s field trip, rewards for students, and Cambridge Events. Students who do not participate will have to pay the full amount for the field trip and the more cards they sell…the less you will have to pay for it.
The Digital Raise Digital Discount card is valid anywhere in the country. When a customer purchases a card through the link to your student’s unique online store, they will receive an email or text message with a join code and instructions on how to download and setup the App on their phone. When the App is opened a pin is dropped in the current location and all the stores, restaurants, specialty services, etc.…within a 10-mile radius that offer discounts are uploaded. So, you can use it here in North Port as well as anyplace you visit on vacation.

Hello HCMS Families: We thank you so much for your patience and understanding as we work to streamline our afternoon pick up process. As of today, Aug 14, we will permanently adopt the double line process for afternoon pick up. Morning drop off will remain a single line. Also, due to new safety legislation, the Morgan Center gate is only open/unlocked 8:30 to 9:30am and from 4:15 to 4:30pm.

Immunization forms can be dropped of to the front office of Heron Creek Middle School or emailed to: Jamisa Frankford, Registrar at Jamisa.Frankford@sarasotacountyschools.net

Just a quick reminder that our Meet the Teacher/Schedule Pick up event is TODAY, Thursday, August 8, from 5pm until 7pm in the Heron Creek Café. Our Annual Title 1 Meeting will also happen during this event at 5:30pm. We value your input and very much hope you are able to attend!

Hello, 7th grade Heron Creek Middle School Parents and Families,
Just a quick reminder that all incoming 7th grade students must have their T-Dap vaccination on file with Florida Shots prior to the start of the school year.
Please know that no student will be permitted to attend school without the T-Dap vaccination so, if you are not sure if your student has this vaccination, please contact your pediatrician or the Sarasota Health Department.
