Hello Gulf Gate Families!
Welcome to another edition of Miller’s Minute! This is your proud Assistant Principal, Beth Sahhar, bringing you the latest updates and reminders to help keep our campus running smoothly.
At Gulf Gate, safety is always our top priority. To ensure a safe and efficient arrival and dismissal for all students, we ask for your partnership with a few important reminders:
🚗 Stay in Your Vehicle: During both morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up, please remain inside your car. Our friendly staff will gladly assist by opening the door on the curb side so your child can safely enter or exit the vehicle.
👶 Car Seats on the Curb Side: If your child uses a car seat, please make sure it is placed on the curb side of your car. For everyone’s safety, staff cannot load children on the traffic side of the vehicle.
🐢 Slow and Steady: Please follow the posted 5 mph speed limit in the parent pick-up line. We know you’re eager to get home and enjoy the evening with your child, but slowing down helps us keep every student safe.
📵 No Cell Phone Use: Please note that cellphone use is not permitted while in the parent pick-up line. Staying alert keeps everyone safe.

📚 PM1 Testing Begins Next Week
It’s that time of year again! Students in grades 3–5 will begin their PM1 FAST assessments in ELA next week:
3rd Grade – Tuesday, August 26
4th Grade – Wednesday, August 27
5th Grade – Thursday, August 28
➡️ Please ensure your child gets a good night’s sleep before their test days.
➡️ Math testing for grades 3–5 will follow the week after.
➡️ K–2 beginning-of-year testing starts on September 9. More details will be shared soon!
🍗 Gulf Gate Spirit Night at PDQ
Mark your calendars! Our first Gulf Gate Spirit Day will be held on Friday, August 29th at PDQ on Tamiami (Route 41).
When you order, just mention Gulf Gate Elementary and a portion of the proceeds will come back to support our school. Every little bit makes a big difference!
