Miller’s Minute – Week of December 8
Hello Gulf Gate Families!
Can you believe it? We are officially counting down — only 9 more school days until a well-deserved Winter Break! 🎉 Our Tigers have been working so hard, and we are proud of all they are accomplishing as we finish 2025 strong.
📘 FAST PM2 Math Testing Continues This Week
We continue our FAST PM2 assessments in Math for grades 3–5:
Tuesday, 12/9 – 3rd Grade Math
Wednesday, 12/10 – 4th Grade Math (Ms. Holahan and Mrs. Lococo’s classes only)
Thursday, 12/11 – 5th Grade Math
Friday, 12/12 – 4th Grade Math (Ms. Shulman, Mrs. Hugglestone, and Ms. Sobek’s classes)
All students have been issued a personal growth challenge to meet their half-year growth goal. This challenge is all about improving their own individual scores, not comparing to others.
Please help us by encouraging your child to: Get rest, come to school on time, stay positive, “Show their stuff” on testing days! Students who reach their goal will earn a special treat and an extra VIP recess time! 🎉
🍩 Donuts With Grownups – This Week
We are excited to continue this fun event, held from 8:00–8:30 AM under the PE Pavilion:
Tuesday, 12/9 – 4th & 5th Grades
Students may bring their favorite grownup! Please enter through the side gates — no office check-in required.
🎓 K–8 Transition – Input Needed From 5th Grade Families
We are thrilled to share that next year we begin our transition to a K–8 school by adding grade 6!
If you have a child in 5th grade, you received a separate email earlier tonight with important information and a survey link.
👉 Please read it carefully and complete the survey.
After winter break, we will host an informational night here at Gulf Gate alongside our district partners. More details will be coming soon. Together, we will build an incredible experience for all of our students!
🎶 Kindergarten Concert – This Thursday!
Our Kindergarten students will be performing this Thursday, 12/11. Students should arrive at 5:30 PM. We can’t wait to see our littlest Tigers shine!
