The Sarasota County School District receives Title I funds based upon the number of students who are eligible for free or reduced-priced meals. Title I schools are then determined by the percentage of students at each school who are eligible for free or reduced meals. At Brentwood, Title I funding is used to hire additional staff to work directly with students, support academic intervention programs, host parent and family engagement nights, and provide a wide range of resources and services designed to enhance student achievement and family involvement.
