Welcome Coach Lance Hoeltke

Booker High School is excited to welcome Lance Hoeltke as the new head football coach of the Booker Tornadoes. Coach Hoeltke brings a strong football story. a deep understanding of leadership, and a commitment to helping young people grow through discipline, accountability, teamwork, and purpose.

His background includes experience, as a collegiate quarterback at the University of South Florida during the early years of the Bulls football program. At USF, he helped lay the foundation for a new program and was recognized as one of the four inaugural captains of the 1997 football season. Before USF, he also played quarterback at Austin Peay State University. giving him a broad view of what it takes to compete, prepare, and lead at the college level.

Coach Hoeltke also brings championship-level coaching experience. He has been connected to successful high school football programs in Kentucky. including work with Kentucky Country Day during a historic run to the 2020 state championship. the first state championship appearance in that school's history.

Those experiences matter because they show more than football knowledge. They show program-building. relationship-building, and the ability to help student-athletes believe in what is possible when standards are clear and everyone is moving in the same direction.

As he begins this new chapter at Booker, the excitement is not only about wins on Friday nights. It is about building a football culture that reflects the best of Booker High School: pride. toughness, academic responsibility. character, and love for community. We look forward to seeing Coach Hoeltke lead our student-athletes, support their growth, and help Booker football continue moving forward with confidence and purpose.
