Story by Staff Report, Sarasota Herald-Tribune

The Sarasota Herald-Tribune continues its recognition of academic excellence, leadership and community service in Sarasota County through its "Students of the Month" program.

For February, we are highlighting four more exceptional students - from Riverview and Booker high schools - who demonstrate a profound commitment to their studies, their extracurricular passions and the betterment of their community.

The students were nominated for recognition by school officials from throughout the high schools with Sarasota County Schools.

This ongoing recognition is being sponsored by the Hale Law. Each month, selected students will be profiled in the printed newspaper and prominently featured on our news website. There is no cost to the schools or students to participate.

Schools in the district submitted outstanding students for consideration based on three key criteria:

  • Outstanding academic success: Students who show dedication to learning, consistent performance, and significant academic growth.

  • Leadership: Students who exhibit strong character, integrity, and serve as positive role models for their peers, both formally and informally.

  • Active participation in school and community activities: Students who go above and beyond to contribute to extracurriculars, volunteer efforts, civic engagement, or other community-building initiatives.
