Booker High School

Booker High School proudly celebrates senior Ava Donahue and her inspiring initiative, Booker Basics, which now provides free feminine products in every girls’ restroom on campus. What began as Ava’s heartfelt vision to ensure dignity and accessibility for all students quickly grew into a full-scale project that she researched, planned, organized, and championed from start to finish. Her leadership and dedication caught the attention of the Rotary Club of Sarasota, whose generous contribution helped turn Booker Basics into a reality. Thanks to Ava’s determination and the Rotary’s support, Booker High continues to foster a more supportive, inclusive environment where every student can thrive.
