Sarasota County Schools is inviting families to participate in its 2026–2027 Virtual Lunch & Learn series, featuring monthly sessions designed to provide practical information and strategies that support student learning and family well-being.
Each virtual session will be held from noon to 1 p.m. and will include a short presentation followed by time for questions and answers. Families can grab their lunch, log on from any convenient location, and connect with district staff while exploring a new topic each month.
The series begins September 9 with “Preparing for Parent-Teacher Conferences.” This session will help families make the most of conversations with teachers and better understand how they can work together to support student success.
Additional sessions will explore academic support, career preparation, family activities, and practical life skills:

May 5: Summer Break Chores: Fostering Independence
The variety of topics reflects the many ways families can contribute to a child’s growth. Reading together, discussing career opportunities, building math skills, practicing mindfulness, teaching financial responsibility, and encouraging independence can all support learning both inside and outside the classroom.
The Virtual Lunch & Learn format also makes it easier for families to participate without traveling to a school or district facility. By offering concise, accessible sessions during the lunch hour, Sarasota County Schools hopes to connect more families with useful information, district resources, and opportunities to ask questions.
