Sarasota County Schools is introducing several updates for the 2026-2027 school year designed to enhance the student-athlete experience, improve event operations, and expand athletic opportunities for students across the district.

Beginning this school year, all athletic event tickets will be sold digitally through GoFan, making purchasing tickets faster and more convenient for families and spectators. Tickets may be purchased in advance at GoFan.co or on-site using a QR code or tap-to-pay option at the gate.

Ticket prices have also been updated. General admission to high school athletic events will be $8, while varsity football tickets will remain $10. Middle school athletic event tickets will be $5.

The district is also expanding athletic opportunities for students. Girls Flag Football will be offered at all traditional public high schools beginning in spring 2027. Middle school students will have additional opportunities to participate in athletics with the introduction of Boys and Girls Soccer in fall 2026, followed by Boys and Girls Flag Football in spring 2027.

In addition, Sarasota County Schools continues its partnership with Who We Play For to offer affordable ECG heart screenings for student-athletes. Screenings cost $20, with financial assistance available for families who qualify. Students participating in athletics are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity as part of the district's ongoing commitment to student health and safety.
