Families looking for a strong start to their child's educational journey are encouraged to apply now for available Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) seats at select Sarasota County Schools. Enrollment is available on a first come, first served basis, and with limited classroom availability; families are encouraged to begin the enrollment process as soon as possible.

Current VPK openings are available at:

• Emma E. Booker Elementary School

• Gocio Elementary School

• Tuttle Elementary School

Sarasota County Schools' VPK program provides high-quality early learning experiences that help prepare children for kindergarten through engaging, age-appropriate instruction focused on literacy, math, language development, social emotional growth, and school readiness.

Before enrolling, families must first obtain a VPK Certificate of Eligibility through the Sarasota Early Learning Coalition (ELC). Information about eligibility requirements and the application process is available in the 2026-2027 Early Learning Programs Parent and Family Handbook.

Families who have already received their Certificate of Eligibility are encouraged to complete enrollment right away on the Focus Parent Portal. Available seats are limited and are expected to fill quickly. Once classrooms reach capacity, additional students cannot be enrolled.
