As Sarasota County Schools prepares to welcome students back for the 2026-2027 school year, community members have an opportunity to make a meaningful difference through A Day of Giving.

On Thursday, August 6, 2026, Carl Reynolds Law, ABC 7, and Sarasota County Schools will once again partner to collect school supplies and monetary donations that directly support local teachers and classrooms.

The community is invited to participate from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. by dropping off donations at either Carl Reynolds Law location:

Each location will feature convenient drive-thru drop-off stations, with ABC 7 personalities broadcasting live throughout the day.

Requested school supplies include:

• Backpacks

• #2 pencils

• Crayons and colored pencils

• Composition notebooks

• Loose-leaf paper

• Pocket folders and binders

• Dry-erase markers

• Highlighters

• Rulers

• Scissors

• Calculators

• Tissues

• Clorox wipes

• Hand sanitizer

• Water bottles

• And other classroom essentials

Monetary donations are also welcome and help provide additional classroom supplies where they are needed most.

Whether you donate a backpack, a box of pencils, or make a financial contribution, every gift helps ensure Sarasota County teachers and students have the resources they need for a successful school year.
