Sarasota County Schools is pleased to announce the following leadership transitions that reflect our commitment to strengthening student outcomes across the district. These appointments take effect on July 1, 2026.

Dr. Michelle Anderson, currently the district's Director of Secondary Curriculum, will serve as the Principal of Riverview High School. Anderson brings extensive educational leadership experience, including her prior service as the Assistant Principal of Curriculum at Sarasota High School and her leadership of secondary curriculum and instruction across Sarasota County Schools. Her understanding of teaching and learning, combined with her experience supporting all of Sarasota’s high schools, will strengthen Riverview High School's administrative team.

After nine years as the Principal of Riverview High School, Mrs. Erin Haughey, will serve as the district's Director of Secondary Curriculum. Her experience leading one of the district's largest high schools, supporting innovative academic programs, and improving student achievement will be an asset as she shapes curriculum and instructional practices for secondary students throughout Sarasota County.

These leadership transitions reflect Sarasota County Schools' commitment to cultivating talented leaders within our organization. We will continue to enhance opportunities for students, support teachers and staff, and strengthen academic achievement across the district by aligning leaders with roles that will have the greatest potential for impact.

"We are fortunate to have exceptional leaders throughout Sarasota County Schools," said Superintendent Terry Connor. “Mrs. Haughey and Dr. Anderson both demonstrate a strong commitment to student achievement and educational excellence. Their expertise and experience will help us continue delivering outstanding opportunities for every student we serve."
