Sarasota County Schools is encouraging all parents and guardians to begin the registration process for current students and first-time students, as well as students returning to the school district, for the upcoming school year. Please note the following links & information regarding registration for traditional public schools and charter schools in Sarasota County.
Current Student Re-Registration
Example: A student currently attending a Sarasota County traditional public school or charter school and who will be attending the same or another Sarasota County traditional public school or charter school the next school year
If a parent/guardian does not have a previous SCS Focus Parent Portal account, they will need to create a new account
If a parent/guardian does have an existing SCS Focus Parent Portal account, they will need to log in to the Focus Parent Portal with that account
A child’s re-registration form for the 2026-2027 school of enrollment will be completed in the SCS Focus Parent Portal after log-in
First-Time Student Registration
Examples: A student entering kindergarten; A student – local or new to the county –who has never attended a Sarasota County traditional public school or charter school before
Parents/guardians that did not participate in School Choice/Controlled Open Enrollment – or who did not elect to send their child(ren) to their choice school(s) – will need to determine their attendance zone based on their residential address
Registrations and enrollments can be submitted online through the SCS Focus Parent Portal
Parents/guardians that participated in School Choice/Controlled Open Enrollment should have completed New Student Registration forms as a part of their Choice application and do not need to complete the process again
After completing & submitting the online forms along with required registration documents, please contact the Registrar at the school of enrollment to finalize a student’s registration. A parent or guardian must accompany a student to register for school
Returning Student Registration
Examples: A student who previously attended a Sarasota County traditional public school or charter school who left the district but is now returning to the district next school year; A student who previously attended a Sarasota County traditional public school or charter school who left the district to enroll in Home Education and is now returning to the district next school year
If a parent/guardian does not have a previous SCS Focus Parent Portal account, they will need to create a new account
If a parent/guardian does have an existing SCS Focus Parent Portal account, they will need to log in to the Focus Parent Portal with that account
Registrations and enrollments can be submitted online through the SCS Focus Parent Portal. Parents/guardians that participated in School Choice/Controlled Open Enrollment or Reassignment should use their existing SCS Focus Parent Portal account
After completing & submitting the online forms along with required registration documents, please contact the Registrar at the school of enrollment to finalize a student’s registration. A parent or guardian must accompany a student to register for school
