Sarasota County Schools is partnering with All Faiths Food Bank to support the Walk to End Summer Hunger, a community event dedicated to raising awareness and funds to help local children facing food insecurity during the summer months.

The walk will take place on Saturday, March 28 at Riverview High School, located at 1 Ram Way in Sarasota. The event site opens at 7:30 a.m., and the walk will begin at 8:30 a.m.

All community members are welcome to participate. Registration is $35 for adults, and students may attend free. Registration includes a T shirt and light breakfast, with limited availability for children’s T shirts.

During the school year, thousands of students rely on school meals as a consistent source of nutrition. When school is not in session, many families face additional challenges ensuring children have access to healthy meals. Events like the Walk to End Summer Hunger help support programs that provide meals and resources to children throughout the summer.

The 2026 Campaign Chair is Dr. LaShawn Frost, and the event brings together families, students, educators, and community partners committed to ensuring every child in our region has access to nutritious food year round.
