SCS District News

Sarasota County Schools is committed to partnering with families to support student success. This year, the district is offering several programs designed to inform, connect, and engage parents and caregivers in meaningful ways.

  • Lunch & Learn

    : Monthly virtual sessions during the lunch hour provide families with quick presentations on topics such as building routines, supporting math learning, and promoting student wellness. Each session includes time for Q&A.

  • New Family Academy

    : This three-part virtual series (September 15, 22, and 29) introduces new families to Sarasota County Schools. Sessions focus on school programming and resources, as well as partnering with teachers and creating supportive home environments.

  • Virtual Mini Parent Academy

    : Monthly evening sessions dive into key topics like financial aid, managing stress and anxiety, raising resilient children, and preparing students for transitions between school levels. Sessions are recorded and available for later viewing.

  • Coffee Chats

    : Hosted monthly at local libraries across the county, Coffee Chats provide families with an opportunity to engage directly with district staff, discuss important topics, and share feedback in a relaxed setting.

These opportunities are part of the district’s ongoing commitment to building strong school-family partnerships.
