Dear SMS families,

We had a wonderful week of learning, concerts, and events. One special event was recognizing our PTSO President, Kyla Weiner, shown at right with Assistant Principal, Mrs. Lyon at the Volunteer Awards Banquet on Thursday night. Kyla was recognized as Sarasota Middle School's Outstanding Adult Volunteer. We are extremely grateful for the countless hours she has given to support our students, teachers, and school. Next week we begin our end-of-year assessments.

Please review the testing calendar below in the full newsletter. We hope you will discuss with your children the importance of giving their best effort and persevering through each one. Please also ensure they are well-rested and have a good breakfast each day.

As we wind down to the end of the school year, please encourage your children to follow the school dress code and other school rules and procedures. We want to end the year strong and on a positive note and appreciate your help in this regard.

If you have an 8th grade student, please encourage them to participate in ALL of our end-of-year events. They will never get these moments back and will not want to miss out!
