Suncoast Technical College Receives $48,000 Grant to Fund Advanced Manufacturing Program

SARASOTA - RND Automation has presented a check for $48,000 to Suncoast Technical College’s Advanced Manufacturing Program from a grant from PMMI (Association for Packaging & Processing Technologies). This is to help further fund advanced manufacturing and automation equipment, teacher training, plus a robotics club sponsorship.

RND Automation has previously donated multiple custom design packaging machines to equip students with industry standard devices.

“Part of the reason we’re involved with STC is because we want to help direct the types of skills and the education that the students are receiving so that it better mirrors what we’re looking for.” Sean Dotson, the President and CEO of RND Automation commented.

Through this partnership, RND Automation has hired several students and is excited about the prospect of hiring more students in the future. “My training at STC helped prepare me for my career by teaching me the shop skills I needed for a career in mechanical assembly.” Said Chris Nicola, a graduate of the Advanced Manufacturing Program.
