Suncoast Technical College Carpentry students create new film set for Sarasota Campus
SARASOTA, March 24th, 2022 - The North Port Branch Carpentry students were asked to create a new set for the Sarasota Campus’s Digital Video Technology program. This project was a collaborative effort between the two campuses and gave the students at both locations the opportunity to learn from each other. After eleven students worked for two weeks building, the new set is now being used by the Digital Video Technology students and will be featured shortly on their YouTube Channel. Carpentry students who participated in the build learned how to build doors, windows and install them. Thanks to the Carpentry students' hard work and collaboration, STC can provide students with an even better learning experience.
The students were thrilled to have the opportunity to film in the Education Channel’s studio, located at STC’s campus. Digital Video Technology students also met with Bob Gray the former, now retired instructor; whose name is honored by the program’s studio space. Gray was joined by several program alumni, including Caleb Gibertini (2021) and Kayla Erny (2019), who all served as actors in the sitcom.
