Mireya Eavey is the principal owner of Mireya Eavey Company, the purpose of the company is to work with organizations to take them from good to great, development of co-investment strategies to leverage and grow fund development, activate employer, educator and public policy relationships, strategic planning for setting up an impactful and data driven workforce development master plan, and development of financial programs and products for underserved communities and employees.  Mireya was the founding executive director of CareerEdge Funders Collaborative for eleven years, an organization that connects funders, educators, employers, and community-based organizations to educate, train, employ and promote employees.  Ms. Eavey led CareerEdge’s mission to provide an exceptional labor force for growing industries by leveraging community assets and forming high-performing workforce partnerships. She plays a critical role in engaging the workforce and its employers to create better future opportunities for those currently employed and those moving into various workforce sectors.

Skilled in managing the nuances of public-private investment and programming as well as maneuvering the dynamics of integrated partnerships among large systems and agencies, Mireya’s track record shows exponential positive development in increasing revenues and engaging the workforce and its employers to create better future opportunities for those currently employed and those moving into various workforce sectors.

Mireya is highly regarded as a prominent leader in workforce development and sustainability. She has put the Sarasota-Manatee region on a national map being recognized for achieving success by spearheading several system change initiatives including the creation of a Community-Wide Plan, endorsed by the Sarasota County Commission, on how to align resources sharing a single objective to train and place citizens of our community into jobs diminishing skill gaps employers have faced within the manufacturing sector. This plan will serve as a model for additional focused sectors.

Before joining CareerEdge, from 2007-2010, Ms. Eavey held the position of Workforce and Project Manager for the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) of Sarasota County, where she doubled involvement in workforce development, building relationships with 80 employers, community organizations, officials, municipalities and numerous advisory boards. She advised and collaborated on the startup and investment funding of other sites under the National fund for Workforce Solutions.  

Her work in international business development helped local businesses receive exporting opportunities for their products through her management of international trade grants. Today, she brings her wide-ranging business acumen and collaborative strengths to increasing the prosperity of people in need who are served by her company.

Mireya’s commitment to helping families attain economic security is also earning accolades. Career Source Suncoast honored Mireya's accomplishments with the Workforce Leadership Award in 2013 ​and in 2015, the Stevie Awards for Women in Business named her Female Executive of the Year. ​In 2016, ​she was named Philanthropic Newsmaker of the Year​ by SRQ Magazine and was a finalist winner in the class of 2019, SRQ Women in Business Initiative award​​. ​

Ms. Eavey was the vice-chair board member of the Manatee Community Federal Credit Union, the board chair of the Florida Policy Institute and serves on the Doctors Hospital of Sarasota Board of Trustees.

Ms. Eavey holds an MBA with a concentration in Sustainable Systems Management, a BA in Business Administration and certificates in Human Resource Management and International Business.
