The Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards program celebrates the success of learners taking Cambridge examinations in over 40 countries around the world. Of the 72 students receiving awards, four were recipients of Scholar Award with Distinction, 20 were recipients of Scholar Award with Merit, and 47 were recipients of Scholar Award.

North Port High School assistant principal, Mrs. Shannon Fusco, said, “Each year NPHS re-evaluates rigorous coursework for student interest, benefit and need, and each year our students ask for more: more rigor, more courses, and more opportunities. Cambridge AICE courses are our most requested programs at NPHS and are open to almost all students. We strive to produce opportunities and our students consistently take them. North Port High School is PROUD of these students.”

Top performing learners will receive their Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards at the Senior Night awards ceremony. Dr. Margaret Little, Cambridge AICE Coordinator, commented, “These students should be very proud of their success in earning these awards. Despite being faced with adversity over the last year, these students and their teachers continued to not only persevere but triumph, and this accomplishment reflects the positive mindset and work ethic that is prevalent in the AICE program. I am proud to congratulate North Port High School’s students and teachers alike. I know that this achievement is only one of many the future will bring to these talented and hardworking students.”

North Port High School’s Cambridge AICE program is a highly rigorous college preparatory program in which students earn college credit through coursework and exams. Students develop deep subject knowledge, conceptual understanding, and higher order thinking skills that will be needed for success at school, university and employment.
