Bay Haven Students Experience “Careers in Tech Expo”

SARASOTA COUNTY, May 15, 2019 – Fifth graders at Bay Haven School of Basics Plus got a glimpse of an exciting future at the Careers in Tech Expo on May 13. The students heard from video game designers, animators with Sony and Dreamworks, engineers, inventors and many more industry experts. Technology teacher Sarah Hu hopes that making the connection between STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) and amazing high-tech careers will help students reflect on how they want to shape their middle school years & beyond.

Presenters included professionals from Ringling College of Art & Design, the Microsoft Store at The Mall at University Town Center, UF Innovation Station Sarasota County, Suncoast Science Center, Bright Young Minds, UF/IFAS Extension Office and State College of Florida’s Associate of Science program.
