Florida’s 2020-2021 Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Parent Survey

SARASOTA COUNTY, February 3, 2021 – Each year, the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) surveys parents of children with Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) to determine how well a child’s school is partnering with the family, including promoting family involvement in a child’s education. All states must collect this data as part of their State Performance Plan, as required under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

The ESE Parent Survey window is open from February 1, 2021 until May 31, 2021. Your feedback is important in helping the state and local school systems continue improving educational programs for children with special needs, so please participate!

How do I take the survey?

  • Request a paper copy from your child’s school (Please note, the shipment of paper copies of the ESE Parent Survey from the State has been delayed. Your child’s school will make these available as soon as they receive them.)
  • Complete the survey online here: http://www.esesurvey.com
