District Announces Director of Transportation
Sarasota County, FL, May 17, 2023 – Sarasota County Schools is pleased to announce that Dr. Keith Little – currently an Assistant Principal at Riverview High School – has been selected to serve as the new Director of Transportation, effective July 1, 2023.
“We are thrilled to have Dr. Little lead our Transportation team,” commented Jody Dumas, assistant superintendent/chief operations officer for Sarasota County Schools. “He is extremely detailed, has a strong work ethic, and has extensive familiarity with the department – one of Dr. Little’s many responsibilities as an Assistant Principal included serving as Riverview’s school liaison for all Transportation-related matters.”
“I’m honored to serve as the Director of Transportation,” said Little. “The safe, reliable, and efficient transportation of students to and from school is a cornerstone resource for families & school communities throughout the district. I look forward to helping our talented Transportation team take their crucial work to the next level.”
Dr. Little is a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of South Florida. Dr. Little has a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and a doctorate in Instructional Leadership, both from the American College of Education. He has certifications in Math 5-9 and Educational Leadership.
Before starting his most recent role as an Assistant Principal at Riverview High School, Dr. Little served as an Administrative Intern at Venice High School. He has also served as a Mathematics teacher (Algebra I and Geometry) at Venice High School and a Long-Term Substitute at North Port High School.
