As a reminder, there are reading scholarships available for current third, fourth and fifth grade students who scored a Level 1 or Level 2 on the FSA Reading in 2021.
The State of Florida is offering an educational savings account program for students enrolled in public schools. This Reading Scholarship is administered by Step Up For Students and was created to help public school students in third through fifth grade who struggle with reading. The program offers parents access to educational savings accounts worth $500 each to cover designated expenses. These scholarships are available on a first come, first serve basis. To apply, please visit Step Up For Students’ website at www.stepupforstudents.org.
This year families will set up and manage their Reading Scholarship account through an online portal – families will need to create an account if they don’t already have one from last year. When applying, you will need your district and school code as well as your child’s FLEID number. Please call your child’s school – or the elementary curriculum office at 941-927-9000 x32230 – for this information and for any personalized assistance needed.
If you have questions about the Reading Scholarship, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call the Scholarship Hotline at 877-735-7837.
