Brian Hatler Relieved of Coaching Duties at North Port High School

SARASOTA COUNTY, November 6, 2019 – Brian Hatler, head football coach with North Port High School, has been relieved of his coaching duties following a 1-9 season with the Bobcats. Coach Hatler was initially named head of the football program at North Port High in 2015. He will continue to serve as a physical education teacher at the school.

Brandon Johnson, principal at North Port High School, made the following statement after the end-of-the-season loss to Lemon Bay High School:

“Coach Hatler has done a great job of inspiring our student athletes to excel both on and off the field. Although many of our games were close, our losing season has been disappointing. After careful review, I feel it’s time to make a change and set a new course and direction for our varsity football program. Coach Hatler will continue to dedicate his talents to the students at North Port High School as our PE teacher, and we are thankful for his service.”

A nation-wide search will commence to hire a new head football coach at North Port High School. Interested candidates can reach out the athletic director, Tony Miller, by contacting the school directly at 941.423.8558.
