World Mental Health Day and the Crisis Text Line

October 10th is World Mental Health Day. The overall objective of World Mental Health Day is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health. We encourage you to take a moment to check in with yourself and someone you care for.

In addition to existing mental and behavioral health services, the Crisis Text Line is available for all students, staff and community members. Created by child advocate Nancy LublinCrisis Text Line is a free, 24/7 support system for those in crisis. Users can text "HERE4U" to 741741 from anywhere in the US to instantly start a text conversation with a trained Crisis Counselor. The organization has processed over 62 million messages to date and notes that 75% of its users are under the age of 25 and 10% of its users are under age 13.

We proudly partnered with Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation to launch the Crisis Text Line Awareness Campaign in the 2018-2019 school year.
