District Honors 22 Schools with Five Star Schools Award

SARASOTA COUNTY, January 10, 2020 – Sarasota County Schools is proud to announce its District Five Star schools for the 2018-19 school year. These recognitions are presented to those schools that have shown evidence of exemplary community involvement. In order to earn a District Five Star School Award, a school must show documentation that it has achieved 100 percent of the established criteria in the following categories: Business partnerships, Family Involvement, Volunteerism, Student Community Service and School Advisory Councils. Schools must also earn a grade of "C" or above, or school improvement rating of "maintaining or improving" for the year of nomination.

  • Lakeview Elementary School – 23 years
  • Lamarque Elementary School – 12 years
  • Laurel Nokomis School – 14 years
  • Phillippi Shores Elementary School – 20 years
  • Pine View School – 12 years
  • Sarasota Academy of the Arts – 6 years
  • Sarasota Middle School – 11 years
  • Sarasota School of Arts and Sciences – 8 years
  • Suncoast Polytechnical High School – 2 years
  • Tatum Ridge Elementary School – 14 years
  • Taylor Ranch Elementary School – 24 years
  • Toledo Blade Elementary School – 22 years
  • Venice Elementary School – 25 years
