District Announces 2022 School-Related Employees of the Year
Sarasota County, FL, May 26, 2022 – Sarasota County Schools is proud to announce that Jamal Guiler has been selected as the district’s overall 2022 School-Related Employee of the Year! Mr. Guiler has been with the district for five years and serves as a System Administrator within the school district’s Information Technology (IT) department.
Described by his peers as a “dedicated” professional and a “go-to person” for many departments, Mr. Guiler personifies the passion, resilience, and grit it takes to deliver exceptional service to our thousands of students, teachers, and staff members daily. His work is crucial to supporting and maximizing the efficiency of the systems within the instructional portion of our IT department, which directly services our schools. Mr. Guiler has made a tremendous impact from his first day onward due to his industry talents, conscientiousness, and servant leadership workstyle. As the award recipient for Sarasota County, Mr. Guiler received a $1,000 check and is eligible for the overall State-level recognition, which should be announced later this summer.
Mr. Guiler and all the school-based winners were recently recognized in an annual luncheon held at Michael’s on East. The in-person event was highly anticipated as it had been held virtually for the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Please join us in congratulating all of our 2022 School-Related Employees of the Year:

The Florida Department of Education’s School-Related Employee of the Year program annually recognizes outstanding education support personnel for the significant contributions they make to their schools and district school systems. The program honors one state representative and four finalists from the 67 school districts in Florida. All non-certified, non-instructional educational support personnel who serve at the school or district level — such as teacher aides, library aides, bookkeepers, secretaries and clerks, bus drivers, food service staff and custodians, among others — may be nominated. Nominees may be full or part-time employees.
Sarasota County Schools’ School-Related Employee of the Year program is made possible through the funding and support of many generous sponsors. These organizations are committed to the belief that rewarding and encouraging excellence in service is vital to a strong and successful educational system. We appreciate their continued commitment to our school communities! Please join us in thanking the following sponsors:
