Sarasota Middle Counselor Named 2024 Florida School Counselor of the Year
Sarasota County, FL, October 27, 2023 – Sarasota County Schools is pleased to announce that Sarasota Middle School’s Dr. Carmen Larson has been named the Florida School Counselor Association’s (FSCA) 2024 Florida School Counselor of the Year. This is the first time a school counselor from Sarasota County Schools has won the award.

Sarasota County School District Outperforms State Scores in End-of-Year Standardized Testing
Sarasota County, FL, June 29, 2023 – According to the Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST) results released today by the Florida Department of Education (FDOE), Sarasota County Schools scored higher than the state in most tested grade levels in English Language Arts (ELA) 3-10 and Mathematics 3-8, Algebra, and Geometry.
