District Announces Principal for Alta Vista Elementary School
Sarasota County, FL, May 3, 2022 – Sarasota County Schools is pleased to announce that Dr. Mindy Long – the current Assistant Principal of Fruitville Elementary School – has been selected to serve as the new Principal of Alta Vista Elementary School. Dr. Long will officially start her new position on July 1, 2022 but will be working with the school over the summer to transition into the new school year after the retirement of Principal Dr. Barbara Shirley.

District Announces Principal for Gulf Gate Elementary School
Sarasota County, FL, April 28, 2022 – Sarasota County Schools is pleased to announce that Ms. Michelle Miller – the current Assistant Principal of Glenallen Elementary School – has been selected to serve as the new Principal of Gulf Gate Elementary School. Ms. Miller will officially start her new position on July 1, 2022 but will be working with the school over the summer to transition into the new school year after the retirement of Principal Robin Magac.
