School counselors are available to assist with academic, career, and personal counseling throughout the school day. Students may request to see a counselor on a walk-in basis, but appointments are recommended to allow for more optimal conditions.

They will help you focus on your academic, career, and personal needs; and provide resources to assist you with your decisions. They also provide information regarding financial aid and veterans affairs, plus provide referrals to agencies in the community.

The career counselors are located in Student Services, Building 2 on the STC Sarasota (Main) Campus.

CareerSource Suncoast, located on the Suncoast Technical College main campus, provides services for students and the community. Services include talent development/sourcing and on the job training, personalized job search assistance, career planning, skills assessment

STC/SPHS Media Center, located on the STC main campus, contains a wide variety of online e-resources and in-house materials (books and audio visual materials) selected to support classroom curricula as well as meet personal needs and interests. All enrolled students may check out materials and are welcome to use the facility as an information resource.

STC's Placement Services works to meet the employment needs of local businesses and STC students. The Placement Service is managed through the Student Support Services Department and strives along with the STC instructional staff to provide the following services:

• Assist students in obtaining employment in their chosen or related occupations, or any available position helping students with financial support while they are attending STC;
• Provide businesses with access to a more educated and qualified workforce;
• Offer information on occupational outlook and wages.
• Facilitate placement of students with job opportunities through program internships;
• Teach students employability skills.

The STC Test Center is located on the STC Sarasota (Main) Campus, in Building 2, through the doors marked STUDENT SERVICES. Parking is free near the Proctor Road entrance in the Visitor's parking lot. 

All test takers must bring valid government-issued photo identification, like a driver's license, passport, or military identification.
