RETURN TO SCHOOL 2020-2021
The School Board of Sarasota County officially approved School Reopening Plans for the 2020-2021 school year at a Board meeting on Tuesday, July 14, 2020. As part of that process, the Board voted to open schools for traditional public school students on Monday, August 31, 2020, three weeks later than originally scheduled.
The Reopening plans approved by the Board include a five-day, brick and mortar instructional plan for parents who want their students to return to traditional public school full-time, as well as a remote option where students can concurrently learn with the same robust instruction as those in the traditional public school classroom.
Statement for families: As of Wednesday, August 12, administrators will begin building class lists and schedules using every parent’s input on whether their child returns in person or remotely. Any requests for remote instruction after that date will cause a delay in assigning your child to a class or schedule. Parents can access the Parent Portal on Thursday, August 27th to see their child’s schedule.
We will continue to update this page on a regular basis up to and after the start of school on Monday, August 31st.
