We really love that we have so many bikers and walkers to school. It helps cut down on the tremendous amount of traffic we have with such a large school!!
Please note, parents should not be walking through the student holding area of our carline to pick up their children. Please wait for your kiddos in the grassy area of the front of the school or near the flagpole. There are too many students to supervise, and we want to make sure our students and staff are safe. We thank you for your consideration.
Additionally, all bike riders under the age of 16 are required to wear a helmet by Florida law. It's so concerning when we see students without a helmet.
A few parents have asked about our new advisory period. This is 25 minutes at the very start of the school day in which students complete state and district required activities, including, iReady reading, iReady math, College and Career Readiness modules, Youth Mental Health modules, and Character Strong activities. A schedule is developed for each month. I've attached the month of September for each grade level to this week's newsletter.
Finally, we'd like to express our appreciation for Stifel Harborside Wealth Advisory Group as sponsors of the staff dinner before last week's Open House. Thank you for investing in our teachers and faculty.
