8.11 Safety Program
The Board recognizes the necessity of a comprehensive Risk Management Safety and Security Program designed to provide for the safety and health of its employees, students and the protection of its physical facilities and environment. This program shall ensure compliance with all applicable local, state and federal rules, regulations and procedures as they pertain to the safety and health of employees and students, and to the security of district facilities. The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) as adopted by the state of Florida, for enforcement in all public-sector employment locations, shall be strictly adhered to; in addition, the provisions relating to safety and health as contained in Florida Statutes.
This comprehensive program shall provide for the following:
A. Safety, security and emergency management requirements for school sites, employees, students and visitors
B. Loss prevention/safety training
C. Work site safety inspections
D. Reporting of hazards
E. Work site safety committees
F. Accident/incident reports
G. Security
Planning
Security of personnel
Security of facilities
Monitoring
H. Contractor safety requirements
