It is the policy of the School Board of Sarasota County to give due preference to eligible veterans, and spouses of veterans, in the appointment, promotion, and retention processes. This policy applies to those veterans, and spouses of veterans, who meet specifications established in state and federal law. This policy applies to all school board appointed positions/employees except those exempted by law including heads of departments. Procedurally the Board uses a non-numeric selection process to determine best-qualified applicants.
