The following provisions shall apply to trips in which students and teachers voluntarily and individually participate and which are not sponsored, endorsed, or supported by the School Board or within the scope of the regular instructional program.

I. The School Board shall not be involved in the promotion, endorsement, approval, curriculum, itinerary, or selection of advisors for the trip.

II. Promotional activities shall not include the name of the individual school or School Board and must contain the following disclaimer:

III. This activity is neither organized, endorsed, sponsored, promoted or supervised by the School Board of Sarasota County or any employee acting within the course and supervision of his/her employer.

IV. Planning or advertising such trips may not be done at any time during the school day. Promotional material will not be posted in classrooms.

V. Participation in such travel by employees and students shall be subject to the District’s leave and attendance policies.
