The Cambridge Pre-AICE Magnet Program at Heron Creek Middle School is one of the most prestigious and rigorous college preparatory programs available to middle school students.  A 2011 study at Universities in Florida found that Cambridge program graduates had an average end-of-freshman year GPA of 3.46, whereas students coming from other acceleration mechanisms, such as Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) had an average GPA of 3.12 and 3.10 respectively.
Because this is such a prestigious program, there is an application process for acceptance and application is open to all students regardless of their school assignment.

Students accepted to the Cambridge program at Heron Creek Middle will have the opportunity to:

• Earn high school credits by taking Pre-AICE classes

• Participate in at least one College visit

• Prepare for the AICE Diploma available at North Port High School

• Develop a Personalized College Preparatory Plan

• Be assigned to a College Prep Counselor
