Individual Education Plan (IEP)
Your child’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) is the road map for their academic year. Student’s IEPs are updated at least once a year. Gifted Educational Plans (EPs) are updated every 3 years and before the transition to middle school. If your child is reaching mastery of their goals before the review time, or if changes need to be made to the plan, the team will meet sooner to agree on the appropriate changes. The ESE liaison will contact you when it is time for the IEP/EP meeting. If you have any questions please contact your child’s ESE teacher or the ESE Liaison available at Glenallen.
Gifted Testing
Teachers or parents can refer a student for gifted testing. A student may be referred at any time; however, for testing to be completed within the academic year there is a Winter deadline to make these requests. This date will be posted on the district website. For gifted testing, there is an initial screening test and students who score in the upper percentile of this test will be referred for further testing by the school psychologist. If you have any questions about the gifted program or testing, please feel free to contact the ESE Liaison.
