The Center for Disease Control recommends the flu vaccine as the first line of defense, especially for children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems.

The district has partnered again with Healthy Schools LLC to provide no-cost flu shots at all our schools. Flu shot clinics will be held on October 29 & 30 and November 1 & 2. Families are encouraged to sign their children up by logging onto:

A few fast facts & points of interest about flu shots and flu season:

● They do not contain any harmful chemicals
● Flu shots are preservative and Thimerosal free
● The 2017 - 2018 Flu Season was the worst in a decade
● 85% of pediatric flu deaths occurred in unvaccinated children

We recommend registering your child online or returning your child’s paper consent form to your school. If you have any questions, please contact the School Health Office at 941-927-9000 x32101.
