July 24, 2018

On Tuesday afternoon, Paul Grohowski took his Oath of Office amidst beloved family and friends, Sarasota County Schools personnel, members of the media, and the public. The crowd heard remarks from Superintendent Todd Bowden as well as Sarasota County School Board Chair Bridget Ziegler. The Honorable Judge Lee Haworth presided over the ceremony. Chief Grohowski is the first member of the Sarasota County Schools Police Department (SCSPD) to be sworn in.

“I am deeply honored to officially assume my role as Sarasota County School District Chief of Police. A ceremony like this has incredible meaning and significance, not only to me, but also to the parents and students within our county. This is a symbol of progress. The oath I took today will be the same oath our highly-trained Sarasota County Schools Police Department professionals will be taking at their own swearing in ceremonies. I take this oath with pride and pledge to deliver exceptional customer service.”
