I started my teaching career in 1993, after graduating from the University of New Hampshire (Bachelor’s degree) and Rhode Island College (Master’s degree). I’ve taught kindergarten, first, second, and third grade, all at Tuttle Elementary. You can also find me managing the Tuttle Bookstore, and I coordinate Tuttle’s Summer Learning Academy. I am mom to my three boys, who are now in college (Go Gators!) and high school. My husband, Shane, is a middle school teacher, and our house is also home to two dogs, two cats, two turtles, two geckos, and many fish. Outside of school, I love to garden, read, and do jigsaw puzzles. National parks, mountains, and waterfalls are where I go on vacation. I am excited to get the new school year started!

Teaching for me began in 2014 after I graduated from Olivet Nazarene University with a degree in Elementary Educations. At first, I was just subbing in Sarasota County, but then I got offered a 1st-grade position at Memorial Elementary School in Arcadia, Florida. I taught 1st and 2nd grade there for 3 years until I came back to Sarasota to teach 2nd grade at Tuttle Elementary. I have been here for 3 years now and absolutely love my team and fellow staff members. Teaching the younger kiddos has always been so much fun since they have such eagerness and excitement for learning. I have been married for 4 years now and love to travel with my wife all over the world. So far we have traveled to 7 different countries in the past few years. Other hobbies of mine include playing sports, reading, cooking, and photography.
