Meet our Kindergarten Teachers
I am so excited to be a part of the Southside family! I started my teaching adventure after I graduated from the University of Florida with my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Elementary Education (Go Gators!). I previously taught Kindergarten and First Grade in Hillsborough County, which is where I fell in love with Kindergarten. When I am not teaching, I absolutely love spending the day at Disney, relaxing at the beach, or just spending time with my family and my bunny! I just love the magic of Kindergarten and spreading the love of learning to my sweet littles. I cannot wait to meet my amazing kinders!
My teaching journey began 13 years ago, right here in Sunny Sarasota. I have taught all elementary grades except 2nd and have even served as a reading resource teacher, but Kindergarten is my all-time favorite! I have a love and passion for both kids and teaching alike. In the little downtime I have, I enjoy hanging with my friends, family and two rescue American Bulldogs, Ava and Brando. I am so excited to meet our incoming Kinder Cuties!
My teaching adventure began after graduating from The University of Texas in Austin 15 years ago. I taught Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 4th grade in Austin, TX before moving to Florida where I’ve been teaching Kindergarten ever since. I love how kindergarteners come in eager to learn, and watching them grow into life-long learners is the best! In my free time, I love exploring around Florida with my husband and daughter who is a 3rd grader at Southside. From trying new restaurants, listening to live music or boating to remote beaches, we stay busy getting to know our new home in Sarasota. I am excited to get to know our new kindergarteners!
This will be my 11th year teaching and 10th year in Kindergarten. I am from Northwest Indiana originally but have lived in Sarasota for 21 years. I have three children: Jace (7) Stevie (4) and Steele (2 months). When I am not teaching at Southside, I enjoy spending time on the beach or boating. I believe that Kindergarten students are confident in spirit, infinite in resources, and eager to learn. Everything is possible when you are in Kindergarten!
I am so excited for my first year in Kindergarten! This is my 3rd year at Southside and my eighth year of teaching. I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, which makes me a huge Buckeye fan. I can't wait to meet each and every one of the Kindergarteners that are coming to Southside this year.
I recently graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Ed. I'm from/still live in Venice, FL, where my family planted roots over 50 years ago. Teaching Kindergarten reminds me of why I adore this career. Kindergarten is all about laying the foundation and creating a passion for learning. There's nothing better than witnessing the light bulb moment in a child! When I'm not teaching, I am usually spending time with my family, friends, and two pups (Ridge & Brooks).
