    Equitable Services
The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) requires participating school districts, in consultation with appropriate private school officials, to provide eligible children attending private elementary and secondary schools, their teachers, and their families with services and other benefits that are equitable to those provided to eligible public school children, their teachers, and their families.

    Complaint Procedure
Private school officials have the right to complain to the Florida Department of Education if they believe that Sarasota County Schools did not engage in timely and meaningful consultation or did not consider their views when determining how to provide equitable services. More information on how to file a complaint can be found on the Florida Department of Education’s website: http://www.fldoe.org/policy/cie/file-a-complaint.stml or you can contact the Department’s Ombudsman: http://www.fldoe.org/finance/equitable-services/contact.stml
