    As a School District, our first obligation is to protect our students. To this end, the State of Florida and the District have standards regarding the reporting of criminal infractions.

    All employees and substitutes (instructional and classified) sign a Code of Ethics.

    These codes require the self-reporting within 48 hours of any arrests/charges involving the abuse of a child or the sale and/or possession of a controlled substance.  

    Individuals are innocent until proven guilty; therefore, this notice is not considered an admission of guilt.

    Next, these codes require the self-reporting of any:

    • conviction
    • finding of guilt
    • withholding of adjudication
    • commitment to a pretrial diversion program or
    • entering of a plea of guilty or Nolo Contendere (no contest)

    for any criminal offense other than a minor traffic violation within 48 hours after the final judgment.
